MEET DIANNE DATU
Dianne Datu has been a leader in the fitness industry for well over a decade and has helped hundreds of clients significantly enhance their lives through her training methods.
She has applied her functional and biomechanical understanding of the body into effective performance enhancement, injury prevention and rehabilitative applications. Her unique approach consists of treating the body as a whole system and finding the root of the problem.
SPECIALTIES
Dianne specializes in medical exercise, post-rehabilitation programming and corrective exercise. For the last 12 years she has focused working with Neuromuscular movement disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and peripheral neuropathy.
In addition, Dianne completed a comprehensive 10-month internship which included over 230 hours of hands-on experience in Muscle Activation Techniques. MAT is a systematic way of identifying and addressing muscular imbalances that lead to pain and inefficient orthopedic function. MAT helps to restore normal body alignment, thereby, decreasing pain and reducing the risk of injury. Dianne uses MAT to help dramatically improve functional capabilities in people of all age groups while providing a pain free lifestyle along with elevating sports performance. In May 2009 Dianne became one of the highly trained 392 MAT practitioners in the country.
Dianne is not only a trainer; she is also the Co-founder of FitDen Chicago Integrated Wellness institute in Deerfield. Dianne's vision was to bring together several practitioners all under one roof to work cohesively to manage the client’s case. In 2021, amidst a pandemic, she made that vision a reality.
Dianne’s love for sports and fitness blossomed at a young age. She participated in various school sports and began martial arts in high school. She taught kickboxing classes and started training clients at the age of 18 and has been working out ever since. These days, Dianne can be seen playing tennis on Chicago’s beautiful lakefront. Dianne also loves to relax by practicing Hot Yoga. Dianne has been an active board member at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab (formerly RIC) since 2019.
